The name “Las Vegas” immediately brings one thing to the mind of many people: a city of many casinos. This reputation has in some ways contributed to make the city one of the most-visited destinations in the United States and the world in general. The City of Las Vegas is the seat of Clark County and the most populous city in Nevada. It is situated near the state’s borders with Arizona and California. With a population of slightly over 603,000 residents based on 2013 census estimates, it ranks 29th-most populous in the U.S.

Las Vegas is a world famous resort city known mostly for gambling and nightlife. Its many casino-hotels and numerous entertainment options have earned it the nickname, “The Entertainment Capital of the World.” On any given day, you are certain to find numerous entertainment events taking place here. The tolerance of various forms of adult entertainment has earned Las Vegas the infamous title of the “Sin City.” The metropolitan area is a leader in the global hospitality industry.

In addition to its reputation as a major entertainment center, the city is the primary commercial, financial, and cultural hub for the state of Nevada. It is among the top three destinations in the country for business, conventions and meetings. Las Vegas is also fast becoming a retirement location for many people.
